Band to Compete at Grade 4

Dec. 14, 2006

As Cameron continues to rebuild, band members have decided to remove themselves from competition in Grade 3, and to compete in the coming season in Grade 4.

“It was a very hard decision for the band to make,” explains Pipe Major Bill Hallston. “Right now I'd like to get back to basics and improve the level of playing. We also have some newer players who need the experience of playing in competition. If they played in Grade 3, they could not make the field.”

The decision to enter competition in Grade 4 doesn’t mean the band plans to stay there. “We are definitely working towards getting back to Grade 3,” says Hallston, “but it may take a year or so.”
