History

The band has been an active competitor in the Eastern United States Pipe Band Association. The Cameron Highlanders for the past few years have experienced success in the highly competitive Grade 3 arena.

In 2004, with an influx of new players, the band launched its Grade 5 band to assist in the development of its players and provide a continuous resource to aid in the band's growth. The Grade 5 band placed 2nd in the EUSPBA in that season and was upgraded to Grade 4 for 2005.

However, 2005 unexpectedly turned into a rebuilding year, and the band decided to compete on only a limited basis. Cameron fielded only a Grade 3 band in two competitions–Rockland and Anne Arundel–with many grade 4 band members participating at the Grade 3 level. In addition, the band focused on improving individual and overall band musicianship and upgrading its repertoire.

In 2006, the band made a decision to compete at the Grade 3 level only. NEXT >
